Debt of Vengeance

While riding for the Box-T Ranch in New Mexico, Chance and his best friend and partner, Tig Jones, come under attack while following a small herd of stolen cattle into a series of rugged canyons known as Hell’s Gate. When the gun smoke clears, Tig lies dying in Chance’s arms. When Chance discovers that the very man they work for, J.B. Ross, is not only responsible for stealing the syndicate’s cattle but also having his friend murdered, he embarks on a trail of revenge.

Debt of Vengeance takes you back to the untamed west for a thrilling adventure filled with colorful characters and a writing style that brings this wild era to life. You can almost smell the burning campfires and hear the blaze of gunfire.

After graduating high school, he began his wandering years with an insatiable desire to explore beyond the next horizon. His travels led him to work in the oilfields of West Texas, to being a pit boss in casinos from the Gulf Coast of Mississippi to Reno, Nevada. No matter where he traveled, Zane used every opportunity to quench his thirst for Western history.

After years of travel, the intrigue of bright lights and glamour of the corporate world left him empty. Trading in his three-piece suit for reliable work boots and a cowboy hat, he once again turned to those deep roots of his past. Zane began shoeing horses and starting colts with his good friend and well-known horse trainer, Bob Erickson.

With the old west flowing through his veins and a desire to share his stories, Zane began writing and performing Cowboy Poetry in 1998. His poetry has been published in numerous newspapers from California to Texas. One of his most memorable experiences was sharing the stage with one of the best Cowboy Poets in the world, Waddie Mitchell, in Vinton, California, at the longest continuing cowboy poetry gathering in the state.
