Between Seattle and Chicago, The Mountain Daylight passenger train ferries people across the country as lives intersect and futures unfold. In this setting, a young Seattle man finds his first real job working the night shift on the train.

Gary Friedly had a long career as a Clinical Microbiologist working for the University of California, Irvine Medical Center. During his tenure there, he did technical writing and was a participant in several research projects. His work has been published in several scientific journals. He resides with his wife in North San Diego County.
